With this hurricane season being an extremely active one, at SERVPRO of South Fleming Island / North Bradford County, we wanted to share these Preparedness Checklist's.

First Aid Kit's

Be sure to have first aid kit's available! Bring as many as you think might be necessary. Also, be sure to bring important medication. (Most recommend at least a seven-day supply)

Important Documentation

Here's a list of important documents you should consider adding to your Preparedness list

  1. Insurance policies 
  2. Driver's license's 
  3. Social Security Card
  4. Medical records
  5. Marriage / Birth Certificates 
  6. Stocks, bonds and other negotiable contracts

Food and Water

  1. 1 Gallon of water per person per day, for up to 7 days
  2. Extra ice for frozen foods
  3. Fill bathtubs with non-drinking water before the storm
  4. 7 day supply of non-perishable foods (packaged or canned)
  5. Special items for infants, elderly or disabled family 

Tools and Supplies

  1. Cooler 
  2. Paper cups, plates and plastic utensils
  3. Fire extinguisher 
  4. Matches
  5. Manual can opener
  6. Pet care items, including extra food and water
  7. Clothing and bedding 
  8. Batteries
  9. Battery-powered radio 
  10. Flashlight 
  11. Toiletries and hygiene items
  12. Sunscreen and mosquito repellent 
  13. Cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer
  14. Boots / shoes
  15. Books and games
  16. Gas or charcoal grill for outdoor cooking
  17. Full propane tank / charcoal bags
  18. Battery-powered lantern
  19. Generator & Gasoline
  20. Extra fuel for vehicles 
  21. Cash
  22. Cell phone and it's charger
  23. Keys

Last but not least; Have an Evacuation Plan

  1. Have a list of local emergency phone numbers
  2. Map of the area & of evacuation routes
  3. Locations of local shelters
